Alarm Registrations
Dear Borough Resident or Business Owner;
The Far Hills
Police Department responds to a considerable amount of alarm activations each year. We encourage all residents and business
owners to maintain various security, fire, medical and carbon monoxide alarm systems. The police department also encourages
you to regularly test these systems and arrange for routine maintenance or inspection of your systems by a professional service
company in order to keep them operating at optimal levels of reliability.
Unfortunately some of the responses to these alarms are hampered by the officers discovering gated entries or access
to driveways which need codes to gain entry to the driveway. Many of the residents or business owners have provided the access
code so that emergency equipment may gain access without causing any property damage. Some residents or business owners have
not provided these codes and we strongly suggest that you include these to maintain the fastest response to your property.
The Borough of Far Hills has passed an ordinance making it mandatory that all alarm systems are registered with the
Police Department. Please find attached a basic Alarm Registration Form. You must fill this out and return the form
with a check payable to the Borough of Far Hills for the amount of twenty dollars ($20.00).
